Two Brolgas

The Brolga is named for the beautiful dancing girl in the Dreamtime story who is turned into this graceful bird by an evil spirit. They are known for their elaborate dancing displays in pairs accompanied by their trumpeting calls. They will be seen in various habitats with water nearby, such as wetlands and billabongs, flood plains and irrigated pastures.
