Gouldian Finches

Gouldian Finches

These brightly coloured finches are now endangered in the wild where they occur in the north of Australia. Usually in flocks, they feed on grasses and flying insects and keep close to water. Three mask colour variations occur, a black, red or yellow but the body colours are the same with the female breast colour being a paler lilac.
