Glossy-black Cockatoos 1

These smaller black Cockatoos rely on casuarina (she-oaks) seeds for their food so they are found in small groups in eastern areas of Australia. With a brownish black head they have distinctive red ‘windows’ or patches in their tail feathers and sometimes yellow patches around their cheeks. They are said to pair for life.
