Swift Parrot 1

Swift Parrot 1

Named for its swift flight, it often associates with lorikeets eating nectar, scale insects and fruits. It is endangered due to the destruction of trees with hollows which it needs for nesting and breeding. This small red tailed green parrot breeds in Tasmania and migrates to south east Australia in winter where the trees are blossoming.
