Orange-bellied Parrots

Orange-bellied Parrots

This is one of Australias rarest birds with only 150 – 200 left in the wild. It is a small parrrot feeding on the ground around dawn and dusk in buttongrass and swampy sedgeland. They breed in SW Tasmania in summer, fly across Bass Straight and winter on the southern coastline of Victoria.
