Grey Butcherbird 1

Grey Butcherbird 1

These handsome and bright birds are related to the magpie and are known for their song and friendly disposition. Their name comes from their method of wedging or impaling larger prey into a fork or large thorn to help them to tear it apart. They occur in most of Australia and Tasmania, except for some areas in the north.
