Flying Pelicans

The Australian Pelican is found all over the country and is very distinctivein its black and white coat. It looks an awkward bird on land but is a magnificent flier and swimmer. They often feed in large swimming flocks, dipping and scooping up fish in their large bill in a synchronised motion. Pelicans breed in colonies often near to inland waters nesting on the ground.
