Carnaby's Black Cockatoos

Carnaby's Black Cockatoos

This relative of the Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo lives only in the south west of Western Australia. The ear patches and tail panels of these cockatoos are white and they are seen in large wandering flocks. They feed on seeds from banksias, eucalypt and pine. As they nest in tree hollows they are declining in numbers due to land clearing.
