Red-capped Parrot


A large strongly coloured parrot from the south west of Western Australia that nests in holes in eucalypt trees and are common in forests and woodlands. They feed on the large, very hard and woody seed capsules of the marri eucalyptus trees that grow in this area and their bill has a long slender tip adapted for these seeds.
