Red-tailed Cockatoos

This large cockatoo flies in pairs or small flocks with slow measured wing beats and floating glides whilst calling frequently. They inhabit coastal, inland and alpine areas of south eastern Australia feeding mainly on seeds of native trees and shrubs, but works pine plantations for both pine seeds and woodboring insects, making a grinding noise as they feed
