Sacred Kingfisher
This peacock blue Kingfisher is common and widespread throughout Australia, migrating south for summer breeding. They hunt on dry land for small reptiles and large insects. Nesting in a hole in a tree in the west, but tunnelling in an arboreal termite mound in the east, they inhabit most open forests, woodland areas, scrubland and mangroves.
